System 6.0x users
================
hi-BBS uses Apple's Communication Toolbox™ (CTB) for all of its communications. System 6.0x users will need to install the CTB resources before using hi-BBS. Many applications come with a CTB Installer diskette that can be used for that task. This demo doesn't include such an installer because of size considerations. If you cannot find a CTB Installer diskette, please call us at (514) 489-1001.
hi-BBS Client files
==================
The hi-BBS Client now offers you to create a folder called hi-BBS Files anywhere on your hard disk, that will contain your settings. The first time you launch the Client, you will be asked to find the hi-BBS Files. Click Create to have hi-BBS build a new hi-BBS™ Files folder besides the hi-BBS Client application. Previous hi-BBS users can copy the Connection List file from their old hi-BBS Prefs folder (located in the Preferences folder of their system folder) to that new hi-BBS Files folder.
Auto-registration
================
Once connected, you will be able to register yourself, if the hi-BBS Administrator allows auto-registration. To do so, just select Register... under the Connection menu.
In the Auto-Registration window, please take note that fields with bold titles are mandatory.
The hi-BBS Client Quick Guide included with your demo details the complete installation and connection process. It will also explain how to navigate the system.
